Bateswar group of Temples (Mandir)

These mandir are located around 35 Km away from Gwalior and were built around 6th to 9th century AD during Gurjar-Pratihara kings.
I visited the site on 9th September 2025 by booking a cab from Gwalior and reached here around 10 am. I had good opportunity to click these beautiful ancient mandir as there were very people.

How to reach ?

You can book a cab from Gwalior to reach here in around 1 hour.

By flight : Nearest airport is ‘Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Airport Gwalior’ in Gwalior, Madya Pradesh

By train: Can book train from delhi to reach here in 3-4 hours

Timings : 8am to 6pm

Mandir at the center near stepped water tanks are active [Pooja is done]. There are two stepped tanks. If lucky then you can see a big lizard like animal here. I saw it from a distance but it hid quickly once i went closer to it. It was around one foot in length.

There is also a big Hanuman murti . You can also see Kartikeya on some mandir walls.
